On January 7, the No. 3 unit of Waste Heat Power Generation Works of Coking and Power Generation Project of Hebei Taihang Iron and Steel Group was successfully started at one time. CERI is the generator contractor of the works. The unit speeded up to the rated speed of 3000 rpm smoothly. During the whole speed-up process, all systems and equipment of the unit operated normally, and various indicators such as turbine shaft vibration, bearing vibration and bearing temperature were excellent. At 23:58, the No. 3 unit was successfully connected to the grid, which marked that the unit officially entered the operation stage and also ensured sufficient preparation for the 72-hour trial operation of the unit.

The clean coke oven high-efficiency waste heat power generation technology, which was initiated by CERI and characterized by high technical difficulty and complex system, was used in the works. The technology was listed in the Recommended Catalogue of Energy-saving Technology and Equipment in the Field of Industry and Information Technology in 2022 published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
