During the National Day, the primary dry dedusting project of Jilin Jianlong No. 2 converter and the primary dedusting standard-raising project of No. 3 converter for a steel works of Liaoning generally contracted by CERI were successfully put into operation as scheduled.

Jilin Jianlong Steel Works has two 120 t top-bottom combined blowing converters. According to the national policy on energy conservation and emission reduction and the enterprise's strategic development plan, it is necessary to further achieve energy conservation and consumption reduction, eliminate and improve backward production processes and equipment, and adopt the dry dedusting process for the primary flue gas dedusting of the converter. CERI Environmental Protection and Heating and Ventilation Institute adopts mature, reliable and advanced design and reasonable and accurate calculation, fully considers the technical requirements of the system process, ensures the advanced, mature, safe and economical equipment, achieves the goal of ensuring that the dust concentration in the emission is ≤15mg/Nm3, and meets the requirements of ≤50mg/Nm3 specified in the Emission Standard of Air Pollutants for Steel Making Industry (GB28664-2012).

The existing converter primary dedusting system in a steel works of Liaoning has been running for years, and the dedusting system has insufficient capacity. In order to ensure that the environmental protection standards are met, the new OG wet dedusting process for converter is adopted by CERI Environmental Protection and Heating and Ventilation Institute, and the primary dedusting system of three converters is modified to achieve the dust content of converter flue gas emission ≤40mg/Nm3. The project has improved the functional program and realized the interlocking control of the operating parameters of various system; The technically mature long-neck annular slit Venturi and cyclone spray gun dehydrator are used to replace the short diameter Venturi, 90° elbow dehydrator and cyclone dehydrator are used, which have more effectively realized the fine dedusting of converter flue gas and the proper control of CO combustion at the furnace mouth; At the same time, the efforts to upgrade and transform the fan, pipeline, recycling valve block etc. have reduced the system’s resistance, improved the dedusting efficiency, enabled the system with surplus capacity and enhanced the converter’s operation efficiency.
