On September 29, the base beam of the roller table (off the production line) of Maanshan Iron and Steel of China Baowu Steel Group round bloom catser with the largest radius (18.5 m) in China, which was undertaken by CERI as the general contractor, was successfully hoisted. This marked the official commencement of equipment installation. The project was completed one month before the planned date. Several Projects of Maanshan Iron and Steel undertaken by CERI started installation, debugging, and operation.

The project has an investment of about RMB9.269 billion, and occupies an area of around 685,000 m2. It is designed to produce 3.2 million tons of molten steel, 3.15 million tons of billets, 600,000 tons of coils and large coils, and one million tons of bars. The rest of the casting billets are exported or rolled in existing rolling lines. The project will be completed in two phases. The first phase is planned to be put into production before the end of March 2023, and the second phase is planned to be put into production in June 2024.

In addition to the overall design of Maanshan Iron and Steel's new special steel project, as well as EP tasks and part of EPC tasks of the casting and rolling unit, CERI's department for Maanshan Iron and Steel has also undertaken projects for special steel, steel products, as well as retrofitting for ultra-low emissions in thermoelectric production, and landscape betterment with down-to-earth integrity. It acquired design, supply and general contractor contracts for many sets of equipment firstly used in the Bauwu Steel Group, thus laying a solid foundation for the re-establishment of partnerships between CERI and Maanshan Iron and Steel of China Baowu Steel Group.

Currently, sub-projects under the retrofitting design and supply project are running smoothly. At 4:30 pm on August 31, in just three months after the start of construction, the dust remover retrofitting sub-project for the bar workshop of the project for unorganized ultra-low emissions in the steel rolling area of Maanshan Iron and Steel's steel product divisions was successfully put into operation. On September 19, the dust remover retrofitting sub-project for the medium-sized steel section workshop was successfully put into operation. On September 29, the dust remover retrofitting sub-project for the wire workshop was successfully put into production. In the sub-projects for unorganized ultra-low emissions for the large diameter bar and heavy H-beam workshops, intensive installation and debugging are currently under way. There is also good news from the project for unorganized ultra-low emissions in the steelmaking area of Special Steel Co.,Ltd. of Maanshan Iron and Steel. On September 29, the joint debugging of the fourth dust remover was successfully completed. In other projects, installation has been basically completed, and intensive debugging is currently under way.
