At 14:58 on September 10, hydrogen-rich gases started being injected of the CERI-Shanxi Jingang ore sintering project. Currently, the injection has played an effective role in sintering, and production indicators have complied with normality, which marks the official transition from the engineering demonstration stage to the industrial test stage for CERI's sintering technology.

The sintering hydrogen-rich gas injection technology is a self-developed surface injection device in support of sintering, which utilizes hydrogen-rich gases to add heat to the upper surface of materials instead of sintering with solid fuel. This not only can reduce solid fuel consumption and NOx emissions, but more importantly, also can guarantee the sintering furnace being heated evenly, thereby further ensuring a larger output of sintered ore in better quality. With adjustable height, the injection device has the benefits of cascade injection and secondary distribution of air flow. Its system is safe and reliable as it is equipped with multi-level safety interlock switches.

As CERI's first hydrogen metallurgy project for energy saving and carbon reduction, this project takes the general approach of "basic theory-full set of technologies-solution-engineering design and demonstration," and shapes a full set of technologies extending from basic theoretical research to product, and from innovative technology design to safe O & M.
