On January 19, HBIS Zhangxuan Tech convened its inaugural scientific and technological innovation conference following green transformation and upgrading. CERI Hydrogen Metallurgy Engineering Design Team was granted the "Outstanding Contribution Award for Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation" by HBIS Zhangxuan Tech for its exceptional contribution to the world's first 1.2 million-ton hydrogen metallurgy demonstration project.

CERI took full responsibility for the overall consultation and design of the world's first hydrogen metallurgy demonstration project of HBIS Zhangxuan Tech, leveraging its expertise across independent integration, equipment localization, design standard transformation, full-process engineering and technology optimization, and full-process carbon emission reduction design to develop HBIS Zhangxuan Tech into "the first steel industry green transformation demonstration zone in China". Since the Project was put into steady continuous operation in 2023, the metallization rate of green DRI products has remained above 94%. Global records of various technical indicators have been continuously surpassed or reset, highlighting impressive efficacy. When compared with likewise sized long processes, the Project accomplishes over 70% carbon reduction alongside over 50% water and energy conservation. The Project has become a pioneering demonstration project driving green and low-carbon advancements in the global steel industry. It was recognized as a standout in the "Top 10 Technological News in the World Steel Industry 2023" and won the award for "Excellence in Low-carbon Steel Production" from the World Steel Association (WSA) in 2023. In addition, relying on the Project, China MCC won the "Ernst & Young's Sustainability Excellence Award – Best Case" and Special Jury Award in 2023.
