In the early hours of December 29, 2023, the hot test of the Centralized Control Upgrading and Transformation Project for 4,300mm Wide and Heavy Plate Finishing Line of Baowu Group Echeng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., undertaken by CERI Digital Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully completed.

The project aims to improve the completeness of the system and the level of management and control, and expand and transform the wide and heavy plate double-sided shear control room into a centralized control center. This shift to a centralized and streamlined operation mode aims to improve efficiency, achieving the goal of reducing manpower while increasing effectiveness and elevating automation levels. The objective was to establish an ultimate high-efficiency and safe intelligent steel mill.

CERI Digital Technology Co., Ltd. is responsible for the project's virtualization platform upgrade, centralized control console design and supply, as well as PLC software and hardware upgrade design, supply, programming and debugging. Leveraging the team's integrated technology advantages and focusing on operation process optimization and upgrading, we successfully completed the PLC network upgrade and transformation of the shear production line, the FM458 controller upgrade and replacement. This achievement enabled whole-process remote centralized control from the crop shear entrance to the grinding stand, enhancing process efficiency and safety. By implementing the remote centralized control system, the production automation level has been improved, the configuration of operation posts has been successfully optimized and streamlined, and the communication efficiency among various posts has been improved, providing support for rapid response in case of emergency.

From winning the bid on September 8 to the successful operation, the project only took 112 days, setting a record for the shortest construction period among similar intelligent centralized control projects for medium-thick plates of CERI Digital Technology Co., Ltd. The successful implementation of the project provides efficient and stable intelligent control support, significantly enhancing production efficiency and ensuring product quality for the client.
