Recently, the hot test of Upgrading and Revamping Project for No.4 Slab Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) of New Tianjin Steel Group Company Limited (NTS), which is system-integrated by CERI Digital Technology Co., Ltd., was completed.

CERI Digital Technology Co., Ltd. is responsible for the supply of some hardware of the primary control system and all software and hardware of the secondary system, as well as programming and debugging. It has upgraded the continuous casting secondary system, primary dynamic soft reduction system, instrumentation system and hydraulic station system, optimized and integrated the dynamic soft reduction and dynamic secondary cooling models, solved the problem that the hardware equipment of the original control system cannot continue to operate due to production shutdown, and provided intelligent control guarantee for the production of high-quality products.

The Project has a long history and some hardware equipment has been discontinued. The debugging team integrated the existing resources to replace the discontinued equipment with the current mainstream equipment, which provided convenience for the Owner's subsequent self-replacement. The displacement sensor data of the original CCM segment are transmitted through CANopen protocol. Through on-site testing and remote diagnosis by an expert team, the debugging work of converting CANopen protocol into Profinet protocol is finally realized within the specified time. The Revamping project was completed during the intermediate maintenance period of continuous casting. The debugging team worked hard for 72 hours continuously, solving the logical conflict between the original soft reduction and instrument programs and the newly added functions, improving the pain points in the original program design to make it perfectly compatible with the new system, and modifying and adding a large number of upper computer screens according to the requirements of the Owner, which made the operation more convenient while retaining some original operating habits.
