On November 1, the HBIS Laoting 1580 mm Hot Rolling Project undertaken by CERI successfully produced the first coil, and the one-time hot loaded test run of the project was successfully completed.

The HBIS Laoting 1580 mm Hot Rolling Line Relocation Project is a key project of HBIS Group and an important part of the Phase II Project of HBIS Tangsteel & Laoting Iron & Steel Base. It is a relocation & overhaul project aiming at effectively eliminating backward production capacity, promoting local environmental protection and green development, and optimizing the product mix and increasing the market share of the HBIS Tangsteel & Laoting Steel Mill, and is of great significance for rebuilding the industry leadership of the established iron & steel enterprises.

The project mainly includes 2 regenerative heating furnaces (with supporting desulfurization and denitration system), 2 reversible roughing mill units, 1 hot coil box unit, 7 finishing mill units, 2 recoiling units, an 1810 skin pass mill unit, utility and auxiliary systems and other related supporting facilities. During the construction process, CERI faced a number of challenges such as the aging of existing steel structures, limited site area, numerous cross-operations, limited time, and heavy tasks. CERI attached importance to this project and input significant resources to ensure successful completion. Drawing on its extensive experience in design and general contracting management, CERI thoroughly studied the client's demands to improve product adaptability. Based on the actual situation of the project and its experience from previous related projects, CERI prepared a feasible project implementation plan to ensure the project is delivered with quality and quantity guaranteed. The owner highly recognized CERI's efforts in promoting the project's successful construction.
