On the morning of June 6, the commissioning ceremony of Masteel New Special Steel Project (Phase I), which was entrusted to CERI for overall design, was grandly held. Yue Wenyan, CERI's Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman, attended the commissioning ceremony and delivered a speech.

Yue Wenyan said that it was a great honor to witness the commissioning ceremony of the New Special Steel Project (Phase 1). On behalf of CERI, he extended warm congratulations to Baowu Masteel Group.

On November 18, 2021, the project was officially commenced. Under the leadership of leaders at all levels from Baowu Masteel and with the strong cooperation of construction participants, CERI overcame various difficulties such as the engineering technology innovation and the impact of domestic and foreign epidemics. After 18 months of hard work, the project was successfully completed with high quality, efficiency and satisfaction. This marked a moment of fruitful accomplishment. Yue Wenyan sincerely appreciates the trust and support from Baowu Group, the Ma'anshan Municipal Government and Masteel towards CERI.

The market share of special steel is over 90%, which strongly supports the development of national high-end industries.  The commissioning of Masteel New Special Steel Project (Phase I) also marks that CERI has set up another brand-new monument in the field of special steel.

"Ten-Thousand Horses Galloping Ahead" - Depicting the Scenery of New Special Steel Production Lines

On November 18, 2021, the New Special Steel Project of Baowu Masteel Group was officially commenced. The project is designed to produce 3.2 million tons of steel and 3.15 million tons of billets annually. The project is also designed to produce 600,000 tons of wire coils and large coils and 1 million tons of bars  annually. The products are mainly aimed at the middle and high-end product markets such as bearing steel, gear steel, spring steel, non-quenched and tempered steel and alloy cold heading steel. It is expected that after the completion of the project, Masteel Special Steel will become one of the largest single production bases for high-quality and special steel in the world.

"Take the lead" in Building an Intelligent Manufacturing Model Room

CERI's extensive experience in intelligent steel manufacturing, along with the latest Internet micro-service technology and artificial intelligence technology, were being applied in various projects within the Masteel New Special Steel Project. These include the intelligent control center, intelligent steelmaking, and intelligent centralized control of water system.

① The New Special Steel Intelligent Control Center is the first intelligent control center integrating steel rolling, with the largest number of production lines and the largest scale in the high-quality and steel industry. It integrates remote control, centralized control and smart application across the entire production line, achieving numerous industry firsts.

② Continuous casting and steelmaking are uniformly provided with a centralized control center, which utilizes robotics to replace manual operation, achieving a simplified "one-click casting" operation. The smelting and casting processes are subject to intelligent adjustment and control to ensure stable quality. The implementation of intelligent billet discharging allows for the automatic and unmanned operation of the billet discharging area.

③ The rolling line is operated through centralized control and equipped with advanced equipment such as intelligent overhead cranes and automated high-bay warehouses. The line also incorporates technologies such as one-by-one tracking and online equipment diagnosis to realize one-click steel rolling and one-click  roll changing. Robots are provided to replace manual sampling and sign-hanging. These advancements have paved the way for reducing labor while increasing efficiency in similar production lines.

④ The new intelligent centralized control technology of the water system is applied in intelligent circulating water system, which connects the water system of the whole plant, realizes seamless connection of all units, reduces the management and control cost of circulating water system, and achieves intelligent management of water system.
