On May 7, the hot test of reconstruction project for No. 2 Bar Plant of Jiangsu Binxin Steel Group undertaken by CERI was successfully completed.

The plant has 3 bar production lines, of which No. 1 and No. 2 are ordinary bar production lines with old equipment and large consumption per ton of steel, while No. 3 is a new double-high-speed bar production line provided in 2021. In order to lower the consumption per ton of steel, reduce the maintenance cost of enterprises and give full play to the advantages of process equipment and production capacity of No. 3 bar production line, No. 2 bar production line is upgraded in this project.

The reconstruction involves the transmission system and PLC control system of 6 rolling mills of No.2 bar finishing mill units, No.2 flying shears and multi-length flying shears. After reconstruction, the middle rolling outlet of No. 3 bar production line is connected to the finishing mill unit of No. 2 bar production line through the roller table and guide slot, so that No. 3 bar production line can produce products with specifications above 22mm. The heating furnace and rough and intermediate rolling of No. 2 bar production line can be started in due time according to the production capacity requirements. Through upgrading and integration of electronic control system, the problems such as old electrical equipment, high failure rate and unavailability of spare parts for No. 2 bar production line are solved. At the same time, by upgrading and renovating the electronic control system of multi-length flying shears, the precision of multi-length shearing is further improved, resulting in an increased yield.

The project management team of CERI overcame difficulties, took the Owner's needs as the goal, arranged procurement and commissioning plans in detail, properly allocated resources, organized special meetings for many times, strictly adhered to various requirements of safety, quality and progress, clarified responsibilities, detailed division of labor, dared not to be afraid of challenges, worked hard, concentrated on multiple measures to solidly promote the project progress, and completed the project procurement, arrival and commissioning services in only more than 60 days.
