On April 28, the final of the Industrial Metaverse Track of the 2023 Digital China Innovation Contest was held at Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center as scheduled. The full life cycle management platform of the digital twin factory in the steel industry of CERI won the second prize.

The Digital China Innovation Contest is a high-end professional event sponsored and elaborately created by the Organizing Committee of the Digital China Summit. It has been held for four consecutive years since 2019. The contest aims to gather wisdom, innovation, demonstration, and guidance, further stimulate the enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity of all sectors of society to build a digital China, and empower high-quality economic and social development.

The industrial metaverse track focuses on three key directions: metaverse infrastructure, metaverse industry platform, and metaverse application services, and carries out application innovation competitions around the supporting role of the metaverse in data foundation, simulation engine, digital intelligence core, hardware carrier, and open collaborative ecology. The track attracted 791 contestants from enterprises and public institutions across the country, well-known universities, and research institutes at home and abroad, and submitted 307 valid entries. Participating teams include outstanding teams from well-known enterprises and institutions such as State Grid, China Unicom, China Mobile, China Telecom, Agricultural Bank of China, China CITIC Bank, and Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as well as talents of technological innovation and scientific research innovation from well-known universities and research institutes at home and abroad such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Xiamen University, and the University of Sydney. The entries showed high-level technical application ability, technological innovation ability, and solid scientific research business ability. After several rounds of competition, the full life cycle management platform of the digital twin factory in the steel industry of CERI has become the only entry in the steel industry to be selected for the finals. It has been highly recognized by experts in terms of solution capability, commercial potential, innovation value, and other aspects, and finally won the second prize in the finals.

The full life cycle management platform of the digital twin factory in the steel industry is developed under the framework of the digital construction system of CERI. Based on the product architecture of "one map, one center, and one platform", it includes various application scenarios such as production and operation simulation, intelligent equipment operation and maintenance, and intelligent safety monitoring of pipe network. It has been successfully applied to more than ten iron and steel enterprises such as Linyi Special Steel, Shanxi Jingang, Fujian Dingsheng Iron and Steel, HBIS Tangsteel, and Hebei Tianzhu Iron and Steel. It has significantly improved the management and control efficiency of iron and steel enterprises and won favorable comments from customers.
