Successful Hot Test of Xilin Steel's Converter Flue Gas Flameproof Medium- and Low-Temperature Waste Heat Recovery Project

Recently, the flameproof medium- and low-temperature waste heat recovery of converter flue gas of Xilin Steel jointly carried out by CERI and Jianlong Group successfully completed hot commissioning and realized continuous production, reaching a stable operation state.


This project is the first R&D demonstration project in China carried out by CERI, Jianlong Xilin Steel, and Jianlong Group Sichuan Chuanguo Boiler Co., Ltd. in cooperation with the No.1 converter of Longlong Xilin Steel. It has changed the current situation that the low-temperature waste heat in the converter of traditional steel enterprises is not recovered, and greatly improved the energy efficiency index of the converter process.


This project is a technological revolution for the extreme energy efficiency improvement of the converter process and the process reconstruction of the converter flue gas purification and recovery process. It is the first in the world to adopt the full-dry treatment method, with waterless fire extinguishing and dedusting in the whole process, and the quality of recovered converter gas has been greatly improved. Some converter dedusting ash is directly recycled in the converter. All flue gas waste heat of the converter above 180°C is recycled. It also lays a foundation for the reform of the converter dedusting method.


Jianlong Xilin Steel's Converter Flue Gas Flameproof Medium- and Low-Temperature Waste Heat Recovery Project has many technologies that are the first in the world: The Company has revolutionarily developed the world's first safe production process route for total waste heat recovery of converter flue gas, initiated the active explosion-proof technology of separating kindling in high-temperature areas, developed core equipment such as kindling catcher, and integrated a complete set of flameproof engineering technologies for total waste heat recovery of flue gas.


The production measurement data for two consecutive weeks show that the water consumption, nitrogen consumption, and power consumption of the No. 1 converter of Jianlong Xilin Steel are reduced, the converter gas is basically completely dry, the unit calorific value is significantly increased, the amount of outgoing steam is greatly increased, some converter dedusting ash is directly recycled in the converter, and the dedusting system meets the discharge standard.
