On January 23, the No.1 blast furnace of Wuhu Xinxing Pipes subjected to environmental protection upgrading and reconstruction was successfully put into operation. CERI is the generator contractor of the works.

The works involves the reconstruction of furnace top system, blast furnace body system, tuyere platform and casthouse system, hot-blast stove system, pulverized coal injection system, granulated slag system and supporting public and auxiliary facilities. In particular, the granulated slag system is upgraded from the original mechanical drum process to the second-generation environmentally friendly bottom filtration process of CERI, which is low-carbon and environmentally friendly, supports the rapid replacement of filter materials, and prolongs the service life of bottom filter.

The works was commenced on November 15, 2022, delivered to the Client for drying on January 13, 2023, and ignited at 18:16 on January 22. Tapping was realized successfully at 17:01 on January 23.
