On November 1, with a hot billet rolled into steel plates and pushed to the cooling bed, the hot load test run of 3,500mm medium-thickness plate project for Hangang retreating-from-urban-area integration project of HBIS Group contracted by CERI was successfully completed.

With design capacity of 2 million ton medium-thickness plates, 3,500mm medium-thickness plate project for Hangang retreating-from-urban-area integration project of HBIS Group covers an area of about 170,000 square meters, with a compact layout. Due to the complex geological conditions, inconvenient transportation, recurrent epidemic, the project construction was confronted with unprecedented difficulties.

During the project construction, CERI has not only achieved the fastest designing and plotting, but also completed the delivery and installation of civil engineering foundation within the shortest period. Started from the foundation dynamic compaction since the end of May 2021, only one month was spent for completing the foundation dynamic compaction. With the piling started from the beginning of July 2021, the piling was completed from the main factory building in early August. By the end of August, foundation excavation was commenced and the erection of the first steel pillar was completed on September 8, 2021. On November 6, 2021, the roof pouring of 0 m level for rough rolling was completed. It created the industry record that the foundation of the main rolling line was completed in 4 and a half months. On July 10, 2022, the 3,500 medium-thickness plate heating furnace of Hangang was successfully ignited and heated only after construction of three and a half months. From foundation excavation to successful hot test run, only 14 months was spent for 3,500 medium-thickness plate project of Hangang, creating an industry record of total construction period.
