Recently, the China Iron & Steel Association and the Chinese Society for Metals jointly issued the decision on awarding the innovative achievements of metallurgical science and technology in 2022. CERI’s five innovation achievements were on the list, of which four innovation achievements won the first prize, setting the highest number of first prizes of provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements in the history of the company.

The four innovative achievements that won the first prize were "Development and application of high-efficiency rolling technology and equipment for non-deformable metal materials", "Innovation and application of high-efficiency and low consumption manufacturing technology for super large size and high-quality energy steel plate", "Construction method and engineering practice of digital and green new steel plant" and "R&D and application of key technologies and equipment for large-diameter thick-wall stainless steel welded pipe for oil and gas transmission". In addition, the innovative achievement of "Development and application of flameless combustion ultra-low nitrogen emission technology based on source control" won the third prize.

Metallurgical science and technology award is a science and technology award jointly founded by the China Iron & Steel Association and the Chinese Society for Metals and officially approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is the highest science and technology award in China's iron and steel industry. The projects recommended by the company have passed the one-level evaluation and the three-level appraisals, i.e. network evaluation, professional appraisal, on-site defense appraisal by the review committee and appraisal by the award committee. In the end, they stood out from 289 participating projects and won unanimous praise from dozens of influential experts and scholars in various professional fields of the iron and steel industry.
