Successful Hot Commissioning of Hebei Zhuoli’s High-Speed Pickling Line and Tandem Cold Mill for Tin Mill Black Plate

Date:2026-01-13

On November 18, the pickling line and tandem cold mill (PL-TCM) for tin mill black plate (TMBP) at Hebei Zhuoli, contracted by MCC Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (CERI), successfully completed hot commissioning. This milestone signals the production line’s transition to full-load operation and marks another significant achievement for CERI in high-speed PL-TCM for TMBP, following the project of Rizhao Yulan.

The newly commissioned third-generation PL-TCM for TMBP is designed for an annual capacity of 700,000 tons, enabling stable, high-speed production of high-quality TMBPs as thin as 0.12 mm. With growing demand for tin- and chrome-coated steel coils—driven by the food packaging and chemical industries— CERI has responded by independently developing a large-scale, high-speed, high-precision, intelligent, and environmentally friendly six-hi, six-stand PL-TCM. The PL-TCM incorporates multiple core technologies, including shallow-trough turbulent pickling, high-precision trimming, stable and precision rolling, and surface control. It achieves an ultra-high screw-down rate of over 94%, capable of producing high-quality TMBPs as thin as 0.12 mm, fully meeting the needs of the high-end market.

In the R&D and engineering practice of PL-TCM, CERI has continuously overcome technical challenges, achieving industry-leading performance in maximum speed, output, product quality, and average energy consumption. To date, CERI’s PL-TCM boasts over 40 patents and more than 30 successful application cases, with deployments in renowned steel mills such as Jingye Group, Shanxi Jingang, Tangshan Donghai Special Steel, and Hebei Anfeng Iron & Steel.
