On September 12, the 1×110t BOF Steelmaking System of Sansteel Luoyuan Phase II Project, with MCC Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (hereinafter "CERI") serving as the EPC contractor, completed hot commissioning. This signifies the full start-up of the steelmaking and continuous casting system, achieving commissioning ahead of schedule.
The Project's main process facilities include 1×110t BOF, 1 double-station LF, 2 seven-strand square billet CCMs, and supporting equipment for steelmaking and continuous casting. The Project leverages multiple industry-leading technologies, such as long-lifespan, high-efficiency BOF technology, "one-button" intelligent steelmaking, next-generation BOF coal gas dry dust removal, highly efficient, energy-saving turbid circulating water short-process treatment, and intelligent robotics. A centralized steelmaking control center has been established based on an industrial IoT platform, enabling remote operation and management. The Project fully embodies advanced concepts of green and low-carbon development, intelligent manufacturing, and ultimate energy efficiency. Upon completion and commissioning, the Project will significantly enhance Sansteel Luoyuan Minguang's equipment capabilities and production efficiency, providing robust support for optimizing its product mix, green manufacturing, cost reduction, and efficiency gains, as well as boosting its market competitiveness. It will empower Sansteel Luoyuan Minguang to build a modern steel demonstration base characterized by high efficiency, premium quality, intelligent operations, and ecological sustainability.
The project reconstruction had to be carried out without production suspension, facing limited workspace and cross-operation complexity. The CERI project team developed targeted solutions, including staggered construction of new and existing plant buildings, temporary roller table arrangements, transitional equipment relocation, and phased pipeline installation, effectively promoting the concurrent progress of both production and construction. The project team worked in close collaboration with the Owner, equipment suppliers, and construction teams to overcome challenges such as tight schedules, seamlessly integrating equipment installation, system commissioning, and process optimization. Ultimately, the hot commissioning was completed ahead of schedule, with guaranteed quality and output.
