CERI and TECNORED Hold Signing Ceremony for Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Green Metallurgy Technology Cooperation

Date:2025-04-30
On April 15, MCC Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (CERI) and Brazil's TECNORED held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Green Metallurgy Technology Cooperation. This signifies a new phase of enhanced collaboration between the two parties in low-carbon and carbon reduction technologies, coal briquetting technology, modular mobile briquetting plants, and TECNORED's SRV furnace, marking a significant step forward in resource integration between the two companies as they advance along the global path toward green metallurgy. Han Bing, Chairman of CERI, and Stephen Potter, CEO of TECNORED, attended the signing ceremony.
Han Bing emphasized that as a large-scale national science and technology enterprise, CERI has long been dedicated to promoting the green transition and high-quality development of the iron and steel industry, consistently investing in research and development for both blast furnace and non-blast furnace ironmaking technologies. As a leader in green metallurgical technology in Brazil, TECNORED's independently developed smelting reduction and coal briquetting technologies hold global value for innovation demonstration. This cooperation represents an important milestone for CERI in developing green metallurgical technology and serves as a tangible example of Chinese and Brazilian enterprises collaborating to facilitate the low-carbon transition of the global iron and steel industry. In the future, both parties will leverage technology sharing and resource integration to accelerate the development of efficient, low-carbon processes, promote modular solutions, and optimize resource utilization, thereby providing more competitive low-carbon solutions for the global metallurgical industry while supporting the energy revolution and sustainable development.
Stephen Potter remarked that at a pivotal moment when the global energy revolution and green transition are accelerating, China, as a leading market for carbon emission reduction, is spearheading the innovation wave of low-carbon technology in the iron and steel industry. The two parties will leverage this cooperation as an opportunity to establish a special working group. With a global perspective and technological integration as the core driving force, they will deepen exploration in key technological fields and promote the worldwide adoption of green metallurgical technology. This partnership not only strengthens the technological ties between both companies but will also facilitate the rapid dissemination of innovative technologies worldwide, injecting new momentum into the sustainable development of the industry.
Over the past five years, CERI and TECNORED have engaged in multi-level strategic cooperation focused on the engineering application of smelting reduction ironmaking technology.
