NISCO Special Steel Bar Plant's Rotary Shear Upgrade Project Successfully Completes Hot Commissioning

Date:2025-04-30

On April 1, the rotary shear upgrade project at the NISCO Special Steel Division Bar Plant, undertaken by CERI Digital Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., successfully completed hot commissioning and achieved stable operation.

This project focuses on upgrading the transmission and control systems to enhance equipment operation stability, shearing accuracy, and production efficiency, thereby providing robust technical support for NISCO's high-end bar production. Before the upgrade, the rolling line equipment had been in service for many years, leading to outdated technology and challenges in sourcing spare parts. Under high-intensity shear conditions, issues such as response hysteresis, reduced shear accuracy, and increased failure rates became increasingly prominent. Following the upgrade, the shearing accuracy of the rotary shear system during high-speed operations has significantly improved, greatly enhancing the bar yield rate. By optimizing the current loop control strategy and implementing an additional torque compensation algorithm, the system now exhibits stronger impact resistance. Even under conditions with substantial load fluctuations, the rotary shear system can maintain a millisecond-level dynamic response, effectively eliminating shear deviation. Additionally, the newly integrated remote diagnosis function allows for real-time monitoring of equipment status, facilitating quick failure identification and effectively reducing maintenance time. These enhancements contribute to improved system reliability.
