Xinsteel's Medium-Plate Mill Control System Upgrade Project Successfully Completes Hot Commissioning
At 10 a.m. on March 30, Xinsteel's Medium-Plate Mill Control System Upgrade Project, featuring the system provided by CERI Digital Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., successfully completed hot commissioning on the first attempt.
This upgrade project achieved three major technological breakthroughs, establishing a new benchmark for intelligent upgrades and efficient production within the industry. The L2 mill model system, independently developed by CERI Digital Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., has completely replaced the outdated system, effectively creating an "intelligent rolling brain". This advancement not only significantly enhances the intelligence level of the rolling process but also improves product quality and production efficiency through precise model control. An innovative one-click switching function between the old and new systems has been implemented, allowing both systems to run in parallel online. This feature effectively shortens the commissioning period, minimizes the impact of the upgrade on production, and ensures continuous and stable operations for the enterprise. The rolling mill AGC system has been thoroughly optimized, resulting in four core technology clusters: the AGC dynamic accuracy compensation algorithm, an integrated GM-AGC and feedforward AGC joint control system, multi-physical field coupling compensation technology, and an intelligent sled coefficient adjustment system. These enhancements further improve the automation control of the rolling mill, providing a solid foundation for achieving high-precision rolling.
Under the overall guidance of leadership at all levels, the project team was assembled with experts in heavy plate control technology, including members from the Project Management Department, Control Technology R&D Office, and the Intelligent Steel Rolling Department. They successfully navigated various challenges, including a tight construction schedule, complex working conditions, and a heavy workload, while simultaneously advancing equipment installation, software debugging, and system parallel operation. Thanks to the strong support from the Customer, the hot commissioning was completed ahead of schedule.
