Jiyuan Iron & Steel's 300,000 m³ BFG Holder Project Successfully Completes Hot Commissioning
On March 26, the 300,000 m³ Blast Furnace Gas (BFG) holder project at Henan Jiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd.'s Gas Storage and Distribution Station successfully completed hot commissioning and officially commenced the trial operation phase. The project, contracted to MCC Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (CERI) as the EPC contractor, represents a significant milestone in the efficient utilization and green transition of Jiyuan Iron & Steel's gas resources. It also underscores CERI's benchmark performance in the gas storage and distribution sector.
Green Efficiency Drives Low-Carbon Development
Once operational, the 300,000 m³ BFG holder will enable Jiyuan Iron & Steel to achieve its goal of zero BFG emissions. The BFG holder stabilizes the pressure within the pipe system, ensures efficient combustion in industrial kilns and furnaces, and significantly enhances energy utilization. When combined with peak-shifting power generation technology, production costs will be further reduced. Moreover, the project fundamentally addresses the issues of energy waste and environmental pollution caused by gas emissions. It is expected to result in substantial reductions in annual carbon emissions, thereby providing crucial support for the implementation of the company's "Dual Carbon" strategy.
