CERI and SMZ of Uzbekistan signed a supply contract for a continuous annealing line

Date:2024-10-17
On September 20, Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (CERI) and Samarqand Metallurgiya Zavodi (SMZ) of Uzbekistan signed a supply contract for a continuous annealing line, marking a new level of cooperation between the two parties and their joint efforts to promote the development of the iron and steel industry in Uzbekistan.
The continuous annealing line has a production capacity of up to 300,000 t/a and mainly produces high-strength and high-quality steel for structural parts. The configurational parts and advanced technologies of the line: the environmentally-friendly vertical cleaning system that ensures excellent cleaning effect and significantly lower water consumption per ton of steel; the advanced vertical continuous annealing furnace that adopts the all radiant tube heating mode to effectively ensure product quality, conserve energy and reduce consumption; the energy-saving multi-stage waste heat utilization system that can preheat the combustion air to more than 600°C and is provided with a preheating section to decrease 10% of fuel gas consumption; the efficient technology of spraying protective air for cooling, which is perfectly suitable for high-strength steel production and can ensure high-quality plate surfaces and plate shapes; the stable injection technology that keeps uniform cooling and stable operation of strip steel on the basis of realizing the cooling at ultra-high speed; the independently-designed skin pass mill, tension leveler, disc shear and rotary shear can effectively ensure the mechanical performance, surface quality and dimensional accuracy of coil products.
The line is the first cold-rolled strip steel processing line supplied by CERI in Central Asia. It adopts several proprietary technologies and Chinese standards as well as advanced technologies and a management system to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
