CERI's two scientific and technological achievements are included in the List of Leading Technologies by "Innovation China"

On July 2, the China Association for Science and Technology officially released the 2023 "Innovation China" series list, and two achievements of CERI were included in the "List of Leading Technologies by Innovation China". The "continuous casting technology for 460 mm straight arc type extra-thick slabs" is on the List of Leading Technologies in the field of advanced materials, and the "one-button converter steelmaking technology" is on the List of Leading Technologies in the green and low-carbon sector. CERI has been among the finalists of the List of Leading Technologies by Innovation China for two consecutive years.

Continuous casting technology for 460 mm straight arc type extra-thick slabs — List of Leading Technologies in the field of advanced materials 

CERI has launched the industry-leading continuous casting technology for 460 mm straight arc type extra-thick slabs, redefining the efficiency and quality standards of ironmaking and steelmaking. With its excellent performance and advantages, this innovative technology has set a new benchmark for the production of extra-thick steel plates. 

The main technical highlights of the Project are, through the whole-process innovation in "equipment + technologies + products", creating the complete set of equipment and technology for straight arc type continuous casting with the maximum section of 460×2600 mm, and developing the seven key equipment and technologies such as high-strength uniform cooling molds. Through strict control of the production process, uniformity and consistency of steel plates are ensured, significantly reducing internal defects. Optimized energy use, lower production costs and less impact on the environment can be realized. Wasted materials can be decreased, and the utilization efficiency of resources can be improved. The thickness and size of the steel plate can be flexibly adjusted according to customer requirements to meet diversified market needs. The advanced automation control system is integrated to ensure the stability and reliability of the production process. Its products are widely used in key fields such as construction, bridges, shipbuilding and pressure vessels, providing strong material support for high-end manufacturing. 

The Project promotes the green development and intelligent manufacturing of the iron and steel industry with technological innovation, opening a new chapter of efficient and environmentally friendly ironmaking and steelmaking together with numerous iron and steel enterprises. 

 

One-button converter steelmaking technology — List of Leading Technologies in the green and low-carbon sector 

With its innovatively developed "one-button steelmaking" technology, CERI has led converter steelmaking into a new era based on intelligence. The new generation of "one-button converter steelmaking" technology realizes the intelligent control for the whole process, covering from smelting to tapping, through intelligent control models and advanced monitoring system, which significantly improves production efficiency and product quality, reduces the consumption of raw material and energy, and shortens the smelting cycle. 

The core technologies of the Project include the sublance, machine vision, infrared measurement and sonar slagging. Big data and AI algorithms are used to realize self-learning and self-optimization of intelligent control models, and then fulfill the stable, efficient, unmanned, high-quality and low-cost orderly production in converter smelting. 

This technology promotes the progress of intelligent control technology for steelmaking and assists enterprises in realizing the standardization and high efficiency of converter operation, contributing to the informatization, automation, digitization and intelligence of the iron and steel industry. CERI is willing to cooperate with iron and steel enterprises to create an intelligent and efficient future for the iron and steel industry.
