On April 18, a start-up ceremony was held for the No.1 Blast Furnace Overhaul Project of Hebei Yanshan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. contracted by CERI. The overhauled blast furnace was ignited and started up at 15:18 and molten iron was successfully tapped at 3:58 on April 19.

In the Overhaul Project, CERI's advanced long service life technologies for blast furnaces were adopted, and low-carbon and intelligent transformation was carried out for the furnace body system and the power, telecommunication, and broadcasting facilities. Based on its own successful experience in the blast furnace overhaul projects, CERI's project team designed a reasonable furnace structure and formulated a technical upgrading solution for the blast furnace to solve problems such as exposure of water pipes on the cooling wall at the furnace bosh and serious erosion at the upper part of composite bricks at the tuyere, thus optimizing the furnace profile and ensuring smooth operation of the blast furnace.
