Width exceeds 1500 mm! CERI Achieves Another Breakthrough in Domestic Production of Pickling Line and Tandem Cold Mill (PL-TCM)
On September 29th, the hot load test of the 1700 mm Pickling Line and Tandem Cold Mill (PL-TCM) at Bensteel's first cold rolling mill, undertaken by CERI, was successful. This marks that the production line is about to enter full-load rolling status and has achieved the breakthrough of producing steel strips with a width of over 1500 mm using domestically produced PL-TCM for the first time.
PL-TCM adopts a combination of a four-six roll cold continuous rolling system, the first four are 4-hi mills, and the fifth is a 6-hi mill. The 6-hi mill is a 1700 mm cylindrical roll mill, with a maximum rolling speed of 1200 m/min and a capacity of 1.4 million tons/year. The 6-hi mill features positive and negative bending of work roll, positive bending of intermediate roll, and intermediate roll shifting functions. It is equipped with precision sectional cooling, imported shape meters, imported tension meters, speedometers, and other technical instruments to ensure product quality such as strip thickness and shape.
CERI, according to the width of the strip and the rolling speed, planned the bearing size arrangement and bearing clearance of the double reel winder for wide web strips during the design, and proposed reasonable reel swinging and rising values during assembly, ensuring the stable operation of the reel and neat coiling edges. An electro-hydraulic composite joint is designed at the tail end of the turntable spindle, effectively detecting the oil pressure of the moving parts, and ensuring stable operation.
The entire mill is designed to be fully enclosed. According to the mill's closed partition layout, the smoke exhaust pipe extends to each chamber and designs different diameters according to the amount of smoke to ensure a smokeless and gasless area during rolling, realizing a green factory.
The project has successfully designed and developed an advanced, clean-type processing lubrication system equipment and control model with high efficiency and minimal loss. This innovative system is capable of automatically adjusting crucial technical parameters based on various factors including raw materials, rolling specifications, types of rolled steel, rolling speed, and rolling load. By doing so, it effectively minimizes production costs, particularly reducing the consumption of rolling oil and other essential auxiliary media, all the while ensuring consistent and excellent product quality.
