200 ㎡ Sintering Works of Malaysia Eastern Steel's 2.7 MTA Project Successfully Put into Operation
On August 22, the 200 ㎡ sintering works of Malaysia Eastern Steel's 2.7 MTA Project, which was designed and supplied with major equipment by CERI, was successfully put into operation.
The sintering works of the Project is a reconstruction and expansion project. One sintering machine has been built in Phase I and the position for one sintering machine has been reserved for Phase II. Due to the adjustment of Phase II planning, 200 ㎡ sintering machines were reconstructed. The adjustment scale was large and the reserved site was limited, which greatly improved the difficulty of engineering design. Through on-site investigation, the design team of CERI has discussed with the Owner for many times. On the basis of accurately reviewing the design of Phase I, the team overcame the limitations of existing facilities and made full and reasonable use of the built civil works, thus realizing the close connection and organic combination of site-design-construction.
At present, the pulverized coal injection works, hot metal pretreatment works, No. 7 substation, hot blast stove works and converter works of Malaysia Eastern Steel's 2.7 MTA Project have been put into operation successively, and the commissioning of sintering works indicates that the project has entered the countdown to full operation.
