According to the Notice on Announcement of Outstanding Achievements in Engineering Survey, Design, and Computer Software in the Metallurgical Construction Industry in 2023 recently issued by China Metallurgical Construction Association, 51 projects of CERI won the 2023 Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Engineering Design and Computer Software in the Metallurgical Construction Industry, including 23 first prizes, 19 second prizes, and 9 third prizes, marking a record in terms of both the number of awards and the proportion of first prizes.

First Prize Winning Project 1: 2.7 MTA High-quality Special Steel Project of Linyi Iron and Steel Investment Group Special Steel Co., Ltd.

The Project is the first long-process metallurgical project with a molten steel production capacity of 2.7 MTA and with all processes completed at one time in the field of high-quality special steel in China. Based on the high-quality development concept of the steel industry and in combination with CERI's more than 70 years of leading technology accumulation in the field of high-quality special steel, CERI has intensively adopted 15 of its globally advanced scientific and technological achievements in the Project to achieve great improvement in the production process and equipment of high-quality special steel.

First Prize Winning Project 2: Slab Continuous Casting Works for the Steelmaking and Continuous Casting System of Fangchenggang Steel Base Project (Phase I) of Guangxi Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd.

In the Project, CERI has for the first time developed segment replacement crane equipment with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems highly integrated and a brand new process layout, saving segment replacement time by more than 30% and effectively improving the operation rate of the continuous casting machine (CCM). It has also developed an optical fiber mould and supporting control model, which is at a technologically commanding height of slab CCMs and at the internationally advanced level.

First Prize Winning Project 3: 1×120t Converter Steelmaking Works of Capacity Replacement (Luoyuan Minguang) and Supporting Project of Sansteel Minguang Co., Ltd., Fujian

The Project includes 1 x 120t top-bottom combined blowing converter, 1 x 120t ladle refining furnace, and 1 x R12m five-machine five-strand irregular billet CCM. In the Project, CERI has adopted its independent patented products such as the five connecting rods & lower suspension, sublance, vaporization cooling flue, and steam superheater for converters, setting China's leading technical indicators for customers and providing reliable guarantee for process equipment.
