CERI Won 7 Industry Awards from China Engineering & Consulting Association

Recently, China Engineering & Consulting Association issued the Notice on Publishing the Award-winning Projects of Excellent Survey and Design Awards for Engineering Survey, Architectural Design Industry and Municipal Public Engineering in 2021. The 7 projects applied by CERI are on the list of industrial awards, including 3 first prizes and 4 third prizes.


The "Excellent Survey and Design Award for Engineering Survey, Architectural Design Industry and Municipal Public Engineering" (hereinafter referred to as the "Industry Award") is included in the List of Reserved Projects for National Competition, Compliance and Commendation, organized and implemented by China Engineering & Consulting Association, and selected every two years. The industry award includes the comprehensive award, special award, and industrial award, which was newly added for the first time in 2022, involving 20 industry fields such as metallurgical industry engineering design, petroleum and chemical industry engineering design. An industrial award will be granted to any unit or individual who made important contributions in the practice of an industrial engineering survey and design project. The total number of industrial awards granted in each session shall be controlled, and shall not exceed 600. The first, second and third prizes are provided, and the number of award-winning projects for the first prize shall not exceed 20% of the total number of award-winning projects.


In the selection results of this year's industrial awards, the total number of awards for metallurgical industrial engineering design was 43, and 7 projects won the first prize. CERI won 42.85% of the first prizes for engineering design in the metallurgical industry, and both the total number of award-winning projects and the proportion of first prizes ranked first in the metallurgical industry.


First Prize-winning Project 1: Blast Furnace Works of HBIS Industrial Upgrading and Xuansteel Capacity Transfer Project

The Project, including three 3,000m3 blast furnaces, was designed with an efficient blast furnace expert system model to realize intelligent and low-carbon blast furnace production. Based on index decomposition and evaluation, green technology was applied to each process to realize intelligent equipment, digital processes, unmanned production and green products, and the overall equipment technology level reached the international advanced level.


First Prize-winning Project 2: Steelmaking and Hot Rolling Works of HBIS Industrial Upgrading and Xuansteel Capacity Transfer Project

The Project adopted the most mature, advanced and reliable processes of molten iron desulfurization, converters, ladle refining furnaces, vacuum treatment of molten steel, and argon blowing and wire feeding of furnace rear, molten iron desulfurization technology based on the composite blowing method, sublances and rapid flue gas composition analysis technology, as well as new energy-saving regenerative heating furnaces, high-precision width fixing machines with large reduction, crop flying shears with optimized shearing technology (reducing shearing loss by about 0.2%), roughing and finishing mill units, new advanced cooling technology facilities combining pre-ultra-fast cooling and ordinary laminar flows, and high-strength coiling units, etc. to meet the needs of mass, continuous and stable production of high value-added products, with an efficient and low-consumption clean steel production platform built, with annual output of qualified molten steel of 4.2 million t, qualified continuous casting billets of 4.12 million t and qualified coils of 4.1 million t.


First Prize-winning Project 3: Ultra-thin Strip Project of Zhangjiagang Zhongmei Ultra-thin Strip Technology Co., Ltd.

The Project was designed with the only CASTRIP casting and rolling technology used for large-scale industrial production in the world. This is the first industrial ultra-thin strip casting and rolling production line in China, with a scale of 500,000 t/a and product specifications of 0.7~1.91 mm. The products are thin, with high strength and good stamping performance, and the production line has a ultra-low energy consumption and emission, and a remarkable effect in energy saving and emission reduction. In the Project, more than 10 patented technologies of CERI were adopted. For the first time, high-definition integrated cameras were used in the steel mill to track and observe the behavior of personnel.

Third Prize-winning Project 4: 3,200m3 Blast Furnace Overhaul and Renovation Project of Tianjin Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd.
