The China Metallurgical Construction Association recently issued the "Notice on Announcement of Outstanding Achievements in Engineering Quality in the Metallurgical Industry in 2022". Three projects undertaken by CERI are on the list and won the 2022 Metallurgical Industry Engineering Quality Outstanding Achievement Award.

Award Winning Project 1: HBIS Industrial Upgrade and Xuangang Production Capacity Transfer Project

The industrial upgrading of HBIS and Xuangang's production capacity transfer project, following HBIS Group's implementation of the requirements of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the restructuring of the steel industry in Hebei Province, through the Xuangang Iron and Steel production capacity exit plan, together with Tangshan Iron and Steel and Chenggang's part of the production capacity, to carry out integration, reorganization, and relocation.

The project construction site is in the Leting Economic Development Zone, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. The main construction content is a closed mechanized material yard, two 360㎡ sintering machines, two 760㎡ pellet belt roasters, three 2,922 m³ blast furnaces, two 200-ton converters, three 100-ton converters, one 2,050 mm hot rolling production line, two high-speed wire rod production lines, two high-speed bar-and-rod production lines, one medium rod production line, at the same time, supporting the construction of various process dust removal systems, gas storage and distribution systems, power supply systems and other public and auxiliary facilities. The construction scale of the project is an annual output of 7.32 million tons of molten iron, 7.47 million tons of molten steel, 4.1 million tons of hot-rolled sheets, and 3 million tons of special steel bars and wires.

Award Winning Project 2: No.3 Tender Section for Financing and Construction of Guangxi Wuzhou Ring Road Project

The route starts near Diaoshui Town, Changzhou District, Wuzhou City, connects with Wuzhou-Liuzhou Expressway, and crosses with the built Guilin-Wuzhou Expressway. After the route crosses the Guijiang River, it goes through Xiaying, Wangfu, Chengdong, Sinian, and in the end to Hebu, and then connects to the built Cangwu-Yunan Expressway. The No.3 tender section has a total length of about 16.07 km; the combined length of the Tangyuan connecting line and the Zijin connecting line is 4.944 km, including three interchanges in Tangyuan, Sinian, and Hebu. The main line is constructed according to the standard of a two-way four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 100 km per hour and a roadbed width of 26 m. The connecting line is constructed according to the standard of a first-class highway, with a design speed of 60 km per hour and a subgrade width of 23 m.

The project strictly screened the key parts of quality control and adopted efficient control measures. The physical quality and appearance quality of roadbed engineering, pavement engineering, bridge engineering, and tunnel engineering are all in a good state. The quality of the project has passed the random inspection by the quality supervision station, the owner, the supervisor, the third-party tests, and other relevant institutions. Its comprehensive delivery acceptance score has reached 95.6 points.
