CERI has completed hundreds of E and EPC projects, and won 10 national-level awards, 34 provincial-level awards and 8 provincial-level science and technology awards. Among them, the stock yard of Tangsteel built in the 1980s won the Silver Prize of China Excellent Engineering Design Award, and the stock yard of Shougang Jingtang Iron & Steel built in 2009 won the Gold Prize of China Quality Engineering Design Award, reaching the international advanced level.
CERI has successfully developed China's first pulverized coal injection plant for blast furnace, achieving 100% bituminous coal injection for the first time, and exported the technology to POSCO (Korea), Paul Wurth Group (Luxembourg) and MECON (India). In 2007, the “National Code of Coal Injection Project for Blast Furnace” edited by CERI was published.
CERI has successfully developed the Cyclone Top-Combustion Type Hot Blast Stove, and has entered the international markets such as India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. In 2012, "the energy-saving technology of Cyclone Top-Combustion Type Hot Blast Stove with high blast temperature" with the characteristics of high blast temperature, high efficiency and long life was listed in the “Promotion Catalogue of National Key Energy-Saving Technologies”.
CERI designed the first set of manufacturing drawings of copper cooling stave in China and the first set of closed-circulation soft water cooling system in China. With the full cooling plate design, plate-stave combination design, combined cooling stave design, cross-flow tuyere and fully heat-conducting hearth structural system developed by CERI, CERI has increased the design life of blast furnace in China to more than 15 years, and has always been at the international leading level in terms of high efficiency and long life of blast furnace body.
The "pressure-equalizing gas recovery method and recovery device at blast furnace top" developed by CERI has filled the gap in this field in China, effectively solving the problems of toxic gas emissions and dust & noise pollution. It meets the increasingly strict requirements of environmental protection, and generates considerable economic benefits. In 2017, it was rated as one of the top ten technology highlights in the world steel industry.
The blast furnace slag treatment technology by bottom filtration method invented by CERI broke the monopoly of mechanical method in the field of slag treatment and rapidly occupied the market in China. In recent years, CERI has also developed the environmentally friendly bottom-filtration technology which integrates steam treatment, “white smoke” elimination technology and intelligent slag collection, which has won the Excellence Prize of China Patent Award and the First Prize of the Patent Award of China Association of Circular Economy.
As the earliest enterprise in China to study non-blast furnace ironmaking technology, CERI has completed the 2t/h COSRI Semi-Industrial Test Plant in the Chengde Pilot Plant of Ministry of Metallurgy, the 300,000t DRI Project of Tianjin Pipe Corporation and the 200,000t Two-Step Smelting Reduction Industrial Test Plant of Minmetals Yingkou. Now taking the "HBIS Group Hydrogen Direct Reduction Plant Paradigm Project" as an opportunity, CERI continues to contribute to the green development of world’s steel industry.
CERI's steel-making business includes ferroalloy, hot metal pretreatment, converter, EAF, refining and CCM. The company has a leading market share, especially for its steel-making, round billet casting and slab casting business, and as the first echelon of the "national metallurgical construction team", has long maintained an excellent reputation among customers.
CERI possesses core technologies of composite blowing desulfurization, converter, RH refining and special steel caster, and has a high market share in these fields. With the continuous promotion of the national policy of "carbon peak, carbon neutrality", CERI is committed to the research and practice in the field of low-carbon metallurgy. CERI masters core technologies and equipment design of bar rolling such as deformation degree (pass design), deformation speed (speed ratio), motor and temperature control (controlled rolling and controlled cooling), etc. It has been responsible for the overall technology of several major high-quality and special steel projects home and abroad. It contributes to the development of national and industrial standards in bar rolling, and leads the technological progress of controlled rebar rolling process.
CERI has developed internationally advanced-level rolling mill, fly shear and controlled rolling and cooling equipment with independent intellectual property rights. Its shear products won the First Prize of Metallurgical Science and Technology Award in 2017 and 2019, and its all made-in-China high-speed bar equipment won the First Prize of Metallurgical Science and Technology Award in 2010.
CERI systematically masters the theory and technology of flexible rolling of high-speed wire rod. It is the first around the world to develop the technology of single-pass high-speed wire rod rolling. It also develops modular finishing mills, reducing and sizing mills, the technology of on-line shape, size and internal quality detection, controlled rolling and cooling, tracking and prediction of steel structure and performance, leading the technical progress in the field of wire rod rolling in China.
CERI supplies three-roll mandrel mill of domestically leading level, CPE pipe mill, large-diameter longitudinal welded pipe unit, as well as other steel pipe production lines and intelligent processing production lines. It has designed and supplied more than 100 seamless steel pipe projects and nearly 70 welded pipe projects for its customers at home and abroad.
CERI is the earliest scientific and technological innovation enterprise in China engaged in consulting, design and contracting of industrial furnaces. As a well-known brand, CERI Phoenix Furnace has supplied nearly 500 reheating furnaces and nearly 100 heat treatment furnaces for iron and steel enterprises at home and abroad, and provided industrial furnace products and solutions for more than 50 iron and steel enterprises in more than 30 countries. It now serves as a registered supplier of steel companies such as ArcelorMittal, Tata Steel, POSCO and Russia's MMK.
CERI Phoenix Furnace has always been devoted to the research of thermal theory and the development of thermal products. It has more than 100 national patents for industrial furnaces and auxiliary equipment, and has won more than 40 awards, such as China/Provincial Science and Technology Achievement Awards, Excellent Engineering Design Awards, Excellent Project General Contracting Awards and High-quality Project Awards. On the basis of high-voltage power supply and distribution business of CERI's Electrical Control Division, CERI develops its healthy power grid products, which are "one-stop service" series products of enterprise power supply and distribution system, with the expert diagnosis service of whole-plant power supply and distribution system as the core and other supporting products. Its ultimate goal is to create a healthy enterprise power grid ecosystem for customers.
The products mainly include expert diagnosis service products of whole-plant power supply and distribution system; substation products; intelligent pipe network series products; self power generating products; new energy products; power quality series products.
Through the efforts to "re-discover", innovate and improve its advantages of conventional automatic control and drive technologies, CERI’s Electrical Control Division has developed its intelligent plant products, which are a series of intelligent control products with highly automated, green and energy-saving intelligent workshop as the core, with automatic control technologies as the foundation, and with the aim to build workshop-level intelligent ecological system and realize green manufacturing.
