    Feasibility Study of Rizhao High-quality Iron and Steel Base of Shandong Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd

    The project is a pilot project of structural adjustment and upgrading of the steel industry approved by the nation. In its feasibility study, CERI comprehensively investigates and analyzes the market features and product demands, and reasonably determines the direction of the enterprise's development. The whole plant could realize the following indexes: general layout index - 0.93t/㎡ , comprehensive energy consumption - 572kgce/t, fresh water consumption - 3.47m³/t, smoke and dust emission - 0.77kg/t , SO₂ emission - 0.706kg/t, zero wastewater emission, recovery and utilization rate of secondary energy - 100%, and comprehensive utilization rate of metallurgical slag - more than 99.5% .

    HBIS Group TANGSTEEL New Area Project

    The general design, with a general layout index of 0.53t/m², includes the whole process of steel-making from raw materials to steel products, and has more than one hundred advanced technologies being applied. Environmental protection measures are taken for its whole process. It is the first time in China to propose and apply the design concept of more than 50% pellet charge for blast furnace production. This top-level design outlines an intelligent enterprise based on CPS system and industrial Internet.

    The Intelligent Stock Yard EPC Project of Shougang Jingtang Iron & Steel constructed by CERI has an integrated platform of intelligent management and control.   • CERI has successfully developed China's first pulverized coal injection plant for blast furnace, achieving 100% bituminous coal injection for the first time, and exported the technology to POSCO (Korea), Paul Wurth Group (Luxembourg) and MECON (India). In 2007, the “National Code of Coal Injection Project for Blast Furnace” edited by CERI was published.

  • CERI designed the first set of manufacturing drawings of copper cooling stave in China and the first set of closed-circulation soft water cooling system in China. With the full cooling plate design, plate-stave combination design, combined cooling stave design, cross-flow tuyere and fully heat-conducting hearth structural system developed by CERI, CERI has increased the design life of blast furnace in China to more than 15 years, and has always been at the international leading level in terms of high efficiency and long life of blast furnace body.

  • The "pressure-equalizing gas recovery method and recovery device at blast furnace top" developed by CERI has filled the gap in this field in China, effectively solving the problems of toxic gas emissions and dust & noise pollution. In 2017, it was rated as one of the top ten technology highlights in the world steel industry.

    Pressure-Equalizing Gas Recovery

    The "pressure-equalizing gas recovery method and recovery device at blast furnace top" has filled the gap in this field in China, and has been rated as one of the top ten technical highlights in the world steel industry.

  • The blast furnace slag treatment technology by bottom filtration method invented by CERI broke the monopoly of mechanical method in the field of slag treatment and rapidly occupied the market in China. In recent years, CERI has also developed the environmentally friendly bottom-filtration technology which integrates steam treatment, “white smoke” elimination technology and intelligent slag collection, which has won the Excellence Prize of China Patent Award and the First Prize of the Patent Award of China Association of Circular Economy.

    Slag Granulation

    The 2nd-generation environmentally friendly bottom-filtered slag treatment in HBIS Group TANGSTEEL New Area, with the new granulation tower comprehensive technology and the new filtering tank process being applied, realizes zero discharge of slag granulation system and the recycling of water resources. It also adopts unattended intelligent slag collection technology, realizing 24-hour continuous operation, which significantly improves the operation rate and lowers the cost.

  • As the earliest enterprise in China to study non-blast furnace ironmaking technology, CERI has completed the 2t/h COSRI Semi-Industrial Test Plant in the Chengde Pilot Plant of Ministry of Metallurgy, the 300,000t DRI Project of Tianjin Pipe Corporation and the 200,000t Two-Step Smelting Reduction Industrial Test Plant of Minmetals Yingkou.     Hot Metal Desilication, Dephoshorization and Desulfurization EPC Project of Hebei Longfengshan Casting Co., Ltd.

    It is CERI’s first hot metal desilicication, dephoshorization and desulfurization EPC project. High-purity pig iron, as a new metal material and high-end casting material, with the characteristics of high purity, high stability and high consistency, is widely used in high-end castings in wind power, nuclear power, high-speed trains, automobiles and other industries. Such material is favored by many high-end casting enterprises in China.

    With an annual output of 900,000t φ50~130mm high-quality special steel, it is the first full continuous rolling production line of alloy steel medium-diameter bar equipped with large reducing and sizing unit and whole-line controlled rolling and cooling in China, reaching the world's leading level. It has the world's first set of made-in-China high-strength start-stop fly shear with double speed ratio, which won the First Prize of 2019 Metallurgical Science and Technology Award.

    Medium-diameter and Small-diameter Bar Line Project of Shijiazhuang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.

    CERI has built the Project into the high-quality and special steel production and processing base of HBIS Group. It has an annual output of 400,000t of φ80~φ260mm large-diameter bars, 900,000t of φ40~φ120mm bars and 600,000t of φ13~φ60mm bars. It also has various processing lines such as finishing line, flaw detection, grinding, heat treatment and bright bar processing line.

  • CERI systematically masters the theory and technology of flexible rolling of high-speed wire rod.     With 2×600,000t φ5.5~16mm high-speed high-quality wire rod production lines, the Project uses modular finishing mill with the "6+4" sectional controlled rolling and controlled cooling process to ensure a rolling speed of 110m/s.

    Wire Rod Upgrade Project of WISCO Kunming Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.

    With an annual output of 450,000t φ5.5~14mm high-quality wire rod, this high-speed production line uses "8+4" advanced controlled rolling and cooling process, modular finishing mill and reducing and sizing mill to ensure a rolling speed of 115m/s.

  • CERI supplies three-roll mandrel mill of domestically leading level, CPE pipe mill, large-diameter longitudinal welded pipe unit, as well as other steel pipe production lines and intelligent processing production lines.     CPE Pipe Mill of Jiangsu Changbao Steel Tube Company

    It is a new CPE pipe mill of internationally advanced level, designed and supplied by CERI, and put into operation in 2013. It reached its design capacity in just one year, and successfully produced small-diameter high-pressure boiler tubes that are difficult to be produced by mandrel mills.

    Minmetals Yingkou Medium Plate Double Walking Beam Heat Treatment Furnace is supplied by CERI Phoenix Furnace with completely independent intellectual property rights. The furnace can realize the normalizing and tempering heat treatment process of steel plates, and continuous production process of low-temperature tempering at 200℃, with maximum product thickness up to about 300 mm.

    For the MMK 5000mm Heavy Plate Reheating Furnaces and Heat Treatment Furnaces EPC Project in Russia, CERI Phoenix Furnace is responsible for the design, supply, construction advisory and commissioning of reheating furnace area and heat treatment furnace area. The reheating furnace area mainly includes all the equipment of two walking beam reheating furnaces, including natural gas pressurization station, furnace area roller table and steel loading and unloading machine; the heat treatment area mainly includes two roller hearth furnaces, charging and discharging roller table, transition table, cooling roller table, centering device, etc. The emission and energy consumption indexes of these wide-heavy plate reheating furnaces and steel plate heat treatment furnaces reaches the internationally advanced level.     2# Reheating Furnace for the 3,500mm Medium Plate Production Line of Zhangjiagang Hongchang Steel Plate Co., Ltd. of Shagang Group is one of the widest medium-heavy plate reheating furnaces in China and also with the largest hourly output in China. The furnace is equipped with three sets of walking mechanisms, which can realize independent operation and production of three rows of materials (main production mode), or synchronous operation and production of three sets of mechanisms (single-row long product mode).

    CERI Phoenix Furnace has undertaken the project of six high-temperature ring-shaped heat treatment furnaces for annealing of silicon steel coils for No. 2 Silicon Steel Plant, No. 3 Silicon Steel Plant and No. 4 Silicon Steel Plant of WISCO Group. The construction of the Project marks the full made-in-China localization of the equipment using the ring furnaces for the high temperature continuous annealing (ROF) process of silicon steel. The ring furnaces are the one with the largest pitch diameter (55.2m), the largest billet loading capacity (2,000 tons/furnace) and the largest annual output (80,000 t/a · furnace) in the world for high temperature annealing heat treatment of high-quality silicon steel coil.

    Baosteel 2,050mm Hot Rolling 4# Reheating Furnace is one of the newly designed and commissioned reheating furnaces. The real-time measurement of NOx emission in continuous and safe production is always maintained at about 40mg/m³ (8%O2), breaking the record in China of ultra-low nitrogen emission of reheating furnaces using mixed gas.

    HBIS Group Industrial Upgrade and Xuansteel Production Capacity Transfer Project

    Power Supply and Distribution System PC Project of HBIS Group Industrial Upgrade and Xuansteel Production Capacity Transfer Project (i.e. HBIS Group Laoting Project) includes 220kV overhead lines, two 220kV main step-down substations, eleven 110kV substations and all 110kV cable galleries. It is the first EPC project in China when all the high-voltage power supply systems for a steel enterprise with an annual output more than 10Mt is undertaken by one contractor.

  • Through the efforts to "re-discover", innovate and improve its advantages of conventional automatic control and drive technologies, CERI’s Electrical Control Division has developed its intelligent plant products, which are a series of intelligent control products with highly automated, green and energy-saving intelligent workshop as the core, with automatic control technologies as the foundation, and with the aim to build workshop-level intelligent ecological system and realize green manufacturing.

    The products mainly include automatic control products in the conventional control fields (stock yard control, iron-making control, steel-making control, rolling control, process control, etc.), frequency converters, unmanned cranes, furnace model, and green energy-saving products with energy management and control as the core.

    High-speed Bar Project of Jiangxi Xinyu Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.

    The Project is the first successful case of high-speed bar control system to have the bar reach the cooling bed at the speed of 35m/s in the hot test stage. It uses the high-speed bar control system independently developed by CERI’s Electrical Control Division, which adopts advanced control strategies and rolling line program self-learning function. The steel speed can reach 42m/s after 6-day trial operation and 45 m/s in normal production. It is a benchmark project in China’s high-speed bar market.

    The made-in-China high-performance low-voltage frequency converter developed by CERI with independent intellectual property rights

    The made-in-China high-performance low-voltage frequency converter is a series product developed by CERI with independent intellectual property rights to compete with the latest similar international products. With a power range from 4kW to 4800kW, the product has been successively applied to large metallurgical enterprises in China, such as Baosteel, Zhanjiang Iron & Steel, Ansteel, HBIS Group. It now has 59 enterprises as its customers and 1628 sets of applications in the market. It has obtained 7 patents, 5 utility models and 12 software copyrights. It was appraised by China Machinery Industry Federation to be at the internationally advanced level in January 2015 and was awarded the Second Prize of MCC Group Science and Technology Award.

    Intelligent Energy Management and Control System

    CERI has developed the the intelligent energy management and control system through combining the current situation of energy management in steel enterprises and the new generation of digital technologies and unattended technologies. It realizes the integrated and unmanned management of water, electricity, air and gas in steel enterprises. With the the dynamic models such as gas and power load forecasting model and power generation optimization control model, it improves energy utilization and realizes efficient energy management.

    In terms of its application effect, the self power generation ratio is increased by 3%, and the purchased electricity cost is greatly reduced; the comprehensive energy-saving benefit is increased by 0.3%, and the optimization rate of personnel on duty in the energy station is more than 30%.

    Gas Source Treatment Technology Based on Microcrystalline Materials

    The technology is applicable to the comprehensive treatment of source pollutants of blast furnace gas or coke oven gas. It can ensure that the SO2 emission from flue gas after gas combustion meets the latest environmental protection requirements, and realize good economic and environmental benefits for users. It has the advantages of low operation cost, high removal efficiency and long adsorbent service life. It has been successfully applied to Zhongxin Iron and Steel Group, Qingdao Iron and Steel Company and Tianjin Rongcheng Iron and Steel Group with remarkable effects. It was selected as one of the top ten technical highlights in the world steel industry by World Metals in 2019, and won the Special Prize of 2020 CERI Science and Technology Award.

    Air Separation Technologies

    CERI designed the first set of 3350Nm³/h air separation plant of Shougang Group in 1958, which filled the gap in China. Through more than 60 years of continuous technological innovation, CERI has always been at the leading level of air separation products in China, and become the engineering company with the most reference projects of large and medium-sized air separation plants in China. It has designed and general contracted more than 170 sets of air separation plants and won multiple Excellent Engineering Design Awards.

    Dry Gas Holder Technologies

    CERI designed the first 20,000m³ dry gas holder in 1982, filling the gap in China. Through nearly 40 years of continuous technological innovation, CERI’s dry gas holder technologies have been at the leading level in China, and its key technologies have reached the internationally advanced level.     Desulfurization and Denitration Products

    The 265㎡ Sintering Machine Flue Gas Desulfurization and Denitration Project of Chengde Jianlong Special Steel Co., Ltd. takes the desulfurization tower as the main line, and connects the process water system, weighing-type material circulation system and stable desulfurizer dosing system in series, to form circulating fluidized bed package equipment with low energy consumption and adjustable load. The emission index meets the national ultra-low emission requirements and is at the leading level in China.

    Desulfurization and Denitration Products

    Following the development of environmental protection industry and technological progress, after years of efforts, CERI has developed a series of flue gas desulfurization and denitration purification technologies. The comprehensive flue gas treatment and purification products developed by CERI, including limestone/lime-gypsum desulfurization, semi-dry desulfurization, medium and low temperature SCR denitration, SNCR denitration and activated carbon multi-pollutant purification, could meet the environmental protection emission requirements of different industries such as iron and steel, nonferrous metals, coking, chemical industry and electric power. Typical project adopts the combined process of efficient CFB semi-dry desulfurization and temperature rise SCR denitration to meet the latest emission standards and even achieve better emission indexes. Direct-fired furnace is adopted to save gas consumption and land occupation. This process has become the mainstream technology of sintering flue gas desulfurization and denitration, and is also the future development direction of the industry.

    Environmental Dedusting Products

    In the Converter Secondary Dedusting Upgrade Project of Ningbo Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., CERI has adopted pipeline resistance optimization technology, three-dimensional design technology, dust-free and low-dust collection technology, pipeline air volume simulation technology and intelligent valve control technology, resulting in air volume reduction by about 20%, operation cost reduction by about 20% and investment cost reduction by about 15%. The emission reaches the environmental protection standard, which is at the leading level in China. The Project won the 2018 Metallurgical Industry Excellent Engineering Design Award.

    Environmental Dedusting Products

    CERI has rich experience in environmental protection and dedusting projects. Over the years, it has provided more than 1,000 comprehensive services such as consulting, design & engineering, package equipment supply and general contracting for customers at home and abroad, including flue gas dedusting projects of various processes such as blast furnace, converter, EAF, ferroalloy furnace, various stock yard, cement plant, thermal power plant, etc., involving metallurgy, cement, electric power, and other industries. Its products can meet the most stringent emission standards at present. In the No.2 Steel-making Plant Tertiary Dedusting and Secondary Dedusting System Upgrade Project of Anyang Iron and Steel Group, CERI has adopted advanced design concept combined with its comprehensive treatment technologies of iron and steel production, optimized the layout, and reduced operation and investment cost. The emission index meets the China ultra-low emission standard, which is at the leading level in China. The Project won the 2020 Metallurgical Industry Excellent Engineering Design Award.

    Converter Gas Dry Electrostatic Precipitator Product

    Since the first converter gas purification and recovery system introduced into China by CERI in 1994 was applied in Baosteel, CERI has undertaken the design and general contracting of more than 50 sets of converter gas dry purification systems, with a market share of more than one third in China. The A/B/C Converters Primary Dedusting Upgrade Project of Ansteel No.4 Branch uses CERI’s self-developed ultra-clean cooling demister as the core, which solves the problems usually seen in the conventional dry dedusting, such as unstable collection efficiency of dust of high specific resistance and ultra-fine particle dust escape, and reduces the dust concentration to 10mg/Nm³. This technology is at the internationally leading level.

    Blast Furnace Gas Dry Bag Filter Product

    CERI has independently developed the patented large-scale blast furnace gas dry bag filter products, with specifications of DN4000mm, DN5200mm, DN6000mm and other series, and supporting blast furnaces ranging from 1,000m³ to 6,000m³. The bag filter has the gas flow stably in and out from the top. Its filter bag has long service life and high filter efficiency, with maximum size up toφ 160mm × 8,000mm. Its equipment occupies a small area, and the maintenance work load is reduced by about 30% compared with conventional filter equipment. Its valves are arranged on the top of the frame structure, which is good for ventilation and convenient for maintenance. The operation indexes of the filter system have reached the internationally leading level. The Dry Bag Filter Project of Guangyang No. 1 Blast Furnace in POSCO, Korea contracted by CERI is currently the largest dry filter system of blast furnace gas in the world. With CERI’s patented technology of the top-in top-out bag filter, its emission measured during the operation is 1~2mg/Nm³. The Project won the 2015 Metallurgical Industry Excellent Engineering Design Award and the 2016 Industry Excellent Project General Contracting Award.

    High-efficiency and Long-life Converter Flue Gas Heat Recovery Package Technology

    It has won six provincial/ministerial awards in China. During the development of this technology, CERI has comprehensively overcome many technical difficulties such as system energy saving, poor heat recovery effect, equipment energy waste, high failure rate, short service life, etc. This technical breakthrough to have high-efficiency and long-life equipment has been widely used in large and medium-sized iron and steel enterprises in China, and its market share accounts for over 60% in China, with remarkable economic and social benefits.

    Fujian Sanming 80MW Coke Oven High-temperature and Ultra-high-pressure Waste Heat Recovery and Power Generation Project

    On December 16, 2020, CCTV News Broadcast covered a special report of this Project, which is the first high-temperature and ultra-high-pressure waste heat power generation system based on header system in China. It could realize the maintenance and repair of steam turbine without shutdown of coke oven. It is an important part of full energy recovery, clean and environment-friendly coke-making project, and greatly improves the self power generation rate of the steel plant, making outstanding contributions to energy saving, emission reduction and green development of the enterprise. This Project has become a reference model for the design of many similar systems in China.

    80MW High-temperature and Ultra-high-pressure Gas Power Generation and Energy-saving Upgrade Project of of Henan Jiyuan Iron and Steel (Group ) Co., Ltd.

    The Project won the Special Recognition Award of 2019 Year in Infrastructure Awards. With this Project, CERI has made the precedent of using BIM technology in the field of power generation project and promoted the popularization and innovative application of BIM technology. Using the surplus gas in the plant area to generate electricity efficiently, the Project takes the lead in realizing the synchronous construction of gas power generation and ultra-low flue gas emission, and has obvious economic and environmental benefits.
