At 9:28 on September 28, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 200,000 m³ converter's gas chamber & booster station, a project undertaken by CERI as the general contractor, was held at the Fangchenggang Base of Liuzhou Iron & Steel. Yan Jun, Vice Chairman of the Board and General Manager of Liuzhou Iron & Steel, announced the commencement of the project. Other attendees included Luo Qingge, Chairman of the Board of Guangzhou Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd., Dong Junxiang, Director of the Power Plant, Han Bing, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of CERI.

In his opening speech, Dong Junxiang stated that the 200,000 m³ converter's gas chamber in the Fangchenggang Base of Liuzhou Iron & Steel is the world's first gas chamber of such volume with the benefits of large storage capacity, fast piston movement and strong throughput. In a construction project, there are difficulties as a result of high requirements for design and installation accuracy, as well as construction challenges. These require the general contractor to be more capable in engineering design and construction and the owner to be more adept at maintenance and management. After the project is completed, multiple measures in terms of gas utilization, energy balance, and safety and environmental conservation will be formulated to ensure that it acts as an important contributor to promoting gas recycling and utilization gases from the converter. It is hoped that all involved parties will fulfill construction tasks through efficient collaboration and under scientific guidance, and work together to develop the project as a new benchmark in the steel industry.

Han Bing delivered a speech on behalf of CERI, speaking highly of Liuzhou Iron & Steel's brilliant achievements, and conveying high hopes for the 200,000 m³ converter's gas chamber & booster station in the Fangcheng Port Base. CERI promises to select its best employees, fully leverage its advanced project design, project management and quality control systems, and guarantee sufficient human resources supply and compliance with construction requirements in design, supply and scheduling.
