Two innovation achievements of CERI have reached to the international advanced level after identification

On Mar. 24th, MCC organized scientific and technological achievements identification meeting in Beijing. The meeting was held online and offline. The identification expert committee is composed of 7 authoritative experts in the industry, including Huang Dao, deputy secretary general of China Iron and Steel Association, Li Wenxiu, deputy director of Expert Committee of China Metal Society, Gao Huai, deputy secretary general of China Metal Society and Xing Yi, dean of School of Energy and Environmental Engineering of University of Science and Technology Beijing, etc. The expert committee identified two scientific and technological achievements completed by CERI that are the development and application of key technologies for long-term stability of sintering flue gas desulfurization and denitrification and the development and application of environmental protection and high-efficiency bottom filtration for furnace slag treatment technologies. The meeting was hosted by Li Jianjun who is the deputy branch head of sci-tech achievements branch of MCC sci-tech management department, Cao Jianning, the chief engineer from CERI attended this meeting.  


The two innovation achievements involved into identification are the leading technology in the environmental protection field that CERI has cultivated in recent years via actively implementing the overall layout orientation of the realization of green development and transformation upgrading from nation to steel industry, for the current hot issues of environmental protection in the iron and steel field. The identification expert committee listened to the report from project group and reviewed all identification materials, highly appreciation was given to both two innovation achievements. 


I.The Development and Application of the Key Technologies for Long-term Stability of Sintering Flue Gas Desulfurization and Denitrification


For the problems such as process corrosion, jamming, short-life of catalyst and high consumption of the current sintering wet flue gas desulfurization in domestic and overseas, new technologies and complete equipment with independent intellectual property rights to achieve stable standards, save energy and reducing corrosion jamming are developed, the main innovation points include: 


1.The slurry cooling technology of desulfurization tower driven by the residual heat of sintering gas was invented, which solved the problems such as large humidity, high content of molten salt and high consumption of the overall system of the traditional wet desulfurization process, effective coupling between the outlet gas conditioning of desulfurizing tower and utilization of residual heat of sintering flue gas is realized; 


2.The technology of self-cleaning slag air distribution + double heating SCR denitration process, which solved the industry problems about corrosion and jamming in the denitration process as well as short catalyst life, and the stability of system is high, the equipment life is long. 


3.The flow field mixing enhancement technology of Multi-layer Splitting of Large-section Flue Gas Ducts and Coupling of Multi-point Array Injection has been developed, the high temperature flue gas short distance uniform and efficient mixed air separation modular device has been developed to achieve rapid heat transfer and the effect of uniform temperature in the flow field. 


The achievements have full independent intellectual property rights, and 16 patents have been applied, Since November 2018, it has been successfully applied in Tangshan Ganglu (4×100 square meters, 2×200 square meters), Weifang Special Steel (2×230 square meters) and other iron and steel enterprises, the effect of dehumidification and water saving is increased by nearly 6 times, the system life and stability are significantly improved, and the environmental benefits and energy saving effects are obvious.  


II.Development and Application of Environmental Protection and High-efficiency Bottom Filtration for Furnace Slag Treatment Technologies


For the common key problem about granulating treatment process in domestic and overseas, the key technologies of the new type of bottom filtration for slag treatment process , environmental granulation system, high-efficiency and long life slag-water separation system, intelligent slag capture system and steam recovery system, etc. The main innovation points include: 


1.The new type of bottom filtration for slag treatment process has been developed, which solved the problems of traditional bottom filtration method, such as easy explosion of water quenching granulation, high water content, large occupation area, large steam volume and poor working environment, etc. 


2.The new type of environmental protection granulating equipment system had been developed, it is the first time that the combined hole granulator, safety buffer and steam recovery facilities are developed, to realize safety granulation, environmental whitening and water resource recycling; 


3.High-efficiency and long life slag-water separation system has been developed, designed cascade high-efficiency filtration facilities, modular high-efficiency filtration structure, co-process backwash system and waterless slag capture process, which solved the problem of incomplete slag-water separation and high content of suspended solids in filter water. 


4.The steam recovery system of granulating filter tank and intelligent slag capture system depending on 3D scanning and identification technology have been developed, which improved working environment and work efficiency, and clean production of granulating treatment system is realized. 


The achievements have full independent intellectual property rights, and 44 patents have been applied, 27 of them are invention patents, 10 papers were issued, which has been successfully applied in the 35 iron and steel companies such as Xingcheng Special Steel, Maanshan Iron Steel, HBIS Laoting Steel, etc. safety granulation, high-efficiency filtration, waterless slag capture and steam recovery are realized. The content of suspended solids in filter water and the water content of finished granulating are significantly reduced, saving 40% of the occupied areas, the economical and environmental benefits are remarkable.  


After fully communication and discussion, experts of identification committee finally reached an agreement that two innovation achievements that “Development and Application of Key Technologies for Long-term Stability of Sintering Flue Gas Desulfurization” and “Denitrification and Environmental Protection and High-efficiency Bottom Filtration for Furnace Slag Treatment Technologies” developed by CERI have been reached to the international advanced level, and agreed to pass the identification of MCC scientific and technologies achievements.
