CERI has supplied 64 Electronic Arc Furnaces in the range of 30-150t. CERI takes 45% of the market share of the EAF greater than 70t in China.

The EAF of CERI is applicable to different raw material such as 100% scrap, hot metal plus scrap, 0-100% DRI (H/C) or HBI, etc., to produce all kinds of steel from Carbon Steel and Special Steel to High-Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, etc.

Main technical features

Ultra-High Power High-Impedance Power Supply technology - can reach up to 1200kVA/ton of steel, smelting cycle is reduced to 40min (100% scrap)

Multifunctional wall-mounted injection lance & bottom blowing stirring optimization- applying to different raw material, increasing thermal efficiency and metal yield

Coupling design for the temperature field and stress field - making the equipment more reliable

Foaming Slag Process Model - increasing thermal efficiency, and prolongs lining life

Pretreating the hot metal appropriately before steelmaking is very important to improve the quality of liquid steel and reduce the cost of converter steelmaking and secondary refining.

CERI can provide the hot metal pretreatment solution as well as the technical equipment including KR stirring and injection based on different raw material conditions and process.

KR technology


CERI has the latest process and equipment (100-300t) of stirring desulphurization. The desilicication, desulfurization and dephosphorization pretreatment process is resulted in good dynamic condition, high removal efficiency, low cost of powder (lime powder base) and no splash or pollution.

Combined injection technology


CERI has combined injection pretreatment (65-300t) with desilicication, desulfurization and dephosphorization respectively or simultaneously with final hit point rate of sulfur (96%).

CERI has provided many stainless-steel project consultation, design and general contracting services from raw materials to finished products for many Chinese stainless steel companies such as Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co. The production lines have excellent performance in improving process flexibility, improving equipment performance, shortening the project cycle, accelerating design capacity reaching speed, etc.

AOD is the key facility of stainless steel smelting. As early as 1960s, CERI cooperated with the Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. to research and develop the first 18t AOD of China, and it becomes the main process equipment of stainless steel production of the Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. for a long time. In 2008, CERI independently developed 120t AOD process and facility technology, the automatic control system of the furnace can automatically complete the whole refining process according to steel grade requirements of users, the tap-to-tap time can be shortened, and the operation cost of equipment can be lowered.

On the basis of advanced technology and the proud achievements in converter steelmaking, EAF steelmaking, secondary refining, AOD stainless steel refining and continuous casting, CERI can provide assistance from consultation, design and general contracting of stainless steel projects to production special modifications.
